Gamble Sands Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course located on a sandy plateau above the Columbia River in Brewster, Washington, 4 hours from Seattle, 5 hours from Vancouver and 3 hours from Spokane.
The course opened for play in the summer of 2014, one of only about a half a dozen new course that opened in 2014. The course was designed by David McLay Kidd whose golf design work includes Bandon Dunes (Oregon), Huntsman Springs (Idaho), Tetherow (Oregon), and The Castle Course in St. Andrews.
In describing the course, Kidd has said, "The mission we gave ourselves was to build a golf course that was just as playable as Bandon Dunes. We wanted good golfers to stand on the tee with confidence and see opportunity, all the while ensuring the average player never lost a ball. The fairways are huge, and the views are even bigger."
This links style course has wider fairways and broader greens than just about any other golf course in America.
